The cheapest option with a few transfers, from $25. This is the route I take when I’ve got more time than money.
You start with a SkyTrain ride to Bridgeport Station, hop on the #620 Express bus to Tsawwassen, board the ferry as a walk-on passenger, and then take the #70 or #72 bus to downtown Victoria.
It’s not glamorous, but it works. Last time I did it, I got to the ferry with time to grab fries and a Nanaimo bar before boarding. It’s fun in a no-frills, DIY way.
In total, it costs about $25–$30 CAD total to go from Vancouver to Victoria using public transit and the BC Ferry.
Here’s how it breaks down:
- SkyTrain fare (Canada Line from Vancouver to Bridgeport): $4.65 (2-zone fare with cash).
- Bus fare (#620 to Tsawwassen ferry terminal): Included in the SkyTrain fare if taken within 90 minutes.
