How to Get to the Malahat Skywalk
It isn’t that difficult if you have a vehicle. Directions can be found below:
- Hop on the Trans-Canada Highway (BC-1) and head north. The highway can be accessed from Douglas Street in downtown Victoria.
- Continue north on HWY (BC-1) towards Mackenzie Avenue.
- Follow the highway for 27 kilometres, and you’ll see the exit for your destination on the right-hand side (approximately 4 km past Shawnigan Lake Road).
All in all, it’s about a 30-40 minute drive, and the entrance to the Skywalk is clearly marked with signs along the highway.
If you prefer to make your own way, I’d recommend visiting as part of a broader Cowichan Valley day trip.
You can take a trip to Cowichan Bay, stop at a few Cowichan wineries, or even pick up a famous Cowichan sweater.

But what if you don’t have a vehicle? If you’re in town during the high season, a free shuttle will transport you from Downtown Victoria right to the Malahat Skywalk.
